Little City of Rocks
Little City of Rocks is noted for its wonderful hoodoos and rock formations. It is similar to
the nearby Gooding City of Rocks, but has a smaller area and easier access.
From the junction of US-26 and ID-46, south of Gooding, go north on ID-46. In about 13.5
miles turn left (west) onto a dirt road at a BLM sign. The road takes off from an asphalt turnout
and goes to a small parking area in about a mile.
About a quarter mile past the parking area there is the remains of an old dam.
Follow the old road which becomes a trail. It leads into the canyon which has easy hiking.
Some small waterfalls can be easily bypassed. Side drainages provide more challenging hiking.
There are many possibilities. Many good hiking suggestions can be found at Sheldon Bluestein’s website
